About the postcode sourceSearch addresses with a recorded postcode on OpenStreetMap. Your result may mark a mapped address, a linked property point, or the centre of its postcode area.
About OpenStreetMapWhen an address includes a property reference (UPRN), you can get a matching property location from OS Open UPRN. A property reference on its own doesn’t supply an address.
About property referencesYou can look up postcodes across England, Scotland and Wales. Address search covers the places recorded in OpenStreetMap, so availability varies by location.

Check what your pin means. A postcode pin marks the centre of an area. A property pin is more specific, but its position can still be approximate.
Allow for missing addresses. OpenStreetMap doesn’t record every postal address. If you need complete postal validation, choose an appropriately licensed address product.
Check the original licences for your intended use. You can also download the open-address collection, with its source details and file checksums.
